LPPT Lisbon · Acoustic Monitoring

Noise
Report
by the numbers

How to read this report
This is independent residential monitoring from one fixed terrace below the LPPT approach corridor. It is designed to show repeatable local exposure, not to replace certified airport noise mapping.
Source
ADS-B flight data paired with station SPL readings.
Limit
May–June: sonometer capped at 100 dB. From July 2026: new sonometer, up to 130 dB.
Purpose
A public record for patterns, outliers and night-time disturbance.
Night Window
Alerts are scored over our own extended 23:00–06:59 tracking window (a full night's rest for residents) — wider than ANAC's official 00:00–05:59 regulatory window. Thresholds are ANAC's own fixed noise limits (98.9 dB critical / 93.0–95.9 dB level 2), applied consistently across all months. The ANAC-only breakdown is shown in the analysis below.
🟠 Orange Tier
Not an ANAC-defined level — the regulation only sets Yellow (Level 2) and Red (Critical), nothing in between. Orange tracks that gap on our own, so a loud flight at 97 dB is never silently dropped from the count.
