Correction note (27 Sept 2026). Airline attributions across the whole archive were audited against public aircraft registries and the callsigns each aircraft broadcast, and about 2,000 flights were reassigned to their real airline. The noise figures in this report are unaffected; only the airline rankings (and the airline table in the PDF) were computed before the fix. For example, TAP Air Portugal's count also included Azores Airlines flights, whose code was missing. Details: Archive, Data Quality tab.
Second correction (1 Oct 2026), July 2026 report. The peak noise values above about 105 dB recorded in July 2026 (highest: 122.3 dB) could not be verified. On 1 October 2026 we found that the sound meter occasionally records a single-reading electrical spike that is not an aircraft. In July 2026 the station did not yet keep the independent second-by-second log needed to check them, so these July 2026 peaks should be read as likely artefacts. The July 2026 averages are barely affected; a few July 2026 alerts may also be inflated. The July 2026 PDF is left unchanged.
