FAB LAB Day — The Box is Born

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds you why this project exists.

Arrived at the FAB LAB at 14:00 with the full kit — acrylic sheets, plans, laptop. Met by the team and Alexandre, our guide for the day. First plot twist: the sheets I'd bought at Leroy Merlin as "acrylico" weren't real acrylic at all. One hour detour to a specialist shop. No drama — that's just how it goes.

Then the real thing started. Alexandre walked us through every step — file adjustments, machine calibration, tolerances. The laser cutter fired up. First the cuts. Then the engraving. Watching the Lisbon Finals logo appear on clear acrylic, burned in by light, was genuinely something.

The result is sitting on my desk right now. A clean, transparent enclosure — two-part, ventilated, branded. The physical home for everything this project runs on.

First time at a FAB LAB. Definitely not the last.
