This week had no single big moment, but a lot of small ones.
It started with a plane that sounded like a whisper. A TAP Airbus came in at full noise, but the station was busy following the INEM helicopter and missed it. The station now looks at every aircraft in the area, not just the last one it saw, and fourteen older quiet flights were corrected the same way.
Then came new requests from researchers who use the data. The research page now includes where each aircraft actually was when it passed overhead, continuous weather, and air quality minute by minute. While doing that, I re-measured the station's position: 1.37 km from the runway threshold, right on the approach line.
That's the pattern, really. Every question from someone using the data pushes the station to measure a bit better, and to say more clearly what it doesn't know yet. The air quality sensor, for instance, reads low in very clean Atlantic air, and the data now says so.
Behind the scenes, the control room got a full redesign, and the Instagram captions got a new voice that actually describes the photo in front of it.
Tonight at 22:00, the first Catch of the Week goes out: the best photo of the last seven days, as a short Reel.
Not a headline week. Just the everyday work of turning a terrace into a reference.
