A small round of improvements went live today on the Expert Mode pages, mostly about making the numbers easier to read.
On the Archive, the Lden table now works month by month. Pick a month and you get every day, plus a summary line at the bottom: the Lden of the month, the total time the terrace spent above 70 dB, the average wind and more. For September, that is 72.3 dB over 23 official days, and 13.1 hours above 70 dB, about half an hour every day.
The charts have been redrawn too. Dates are readable again, the labels no longer pile up on each other, and the text keeps its size on a phone. Tap or click any chart to open it full size, then hover or touch a point to see the exact value for that day. The Data page got the same treatment.
One fix under the hood: averaging decibels is not like averaging prices. A loud day weighs more than a quiet one, so weekly and monthly Lden values are now averaged on sound energy, the way acoustic standards do it. September moves from 71.5 to 72.3 dB. Same measurements, more honest summary.
And some housekeeping. Our continuous sound recorder only started on the afternoon of 3 September, and the first days still carried an old timing bug, so the Expert history now begins on 5 September, the first fully reliable day. Flights that pass while the recorder is offline are now counted as "not measured" instead of "quiet".
Same data, clearer view. Have a look, and tell us what you would like to see next.
