A few planes had been going quiet. Captured, scored, enhanced — and then nothing. They never made it to Instagram.
The culprit was subtle: every photo we post gets upscaled 4× first (about 15 minutes on the Pi), and once in a while the "done" signal was being overwritten before the scheduler caught it — leaving the shot frozen in limbo, waiting forever. One had been stuck for over a day.
It's fixed now, with a safety net so a single jammed photo can never hold up the whole queue again.
While we were under the hood, the station got a little more honest too. The counter now reads "photos captured" rather than "published" — we shoot far more than we post — and shows how many actually make the cut. There's a new "next expected" arrival peeking ahead from the airport schedule, real preview cards when you share the link, and the whole thing reads a touch clearer in the dark.
The station keeps watch. Now nothing slips through quietly.
